At Eastern Spirit factory, our skilled team of craftspeople have been producing handmade tiles since 1998. It takes more than 65 pairs of hands to create the unique pieces of Eastern Spirit, and each tile is 100% meticulously handmade. Creating something good, something that lasts, something that is above fashion and trends, something timeless, can't be hurried.  

We have been crafting high-quality tiles in the heart of the middle east for over 20 years. Recognized for our dedication to fine crafts man ship and traditional manufacturing, we have been making our iconic blue, turquoise, green, and white tiles, using the same techniques for generations. We are mostly the last and only factory in the world to use the traditional and timeless skill of under glaze painting with oxides, which is very old EASTERN process dating back over 4000 years in the oldest inhabited city, Damascus.

Every pieces of Eastern Spirit is made by hand. Hand and eye and heart, mixed with years of experience and passion. Experience that is passed down, passed on, inherited and shared. In this way, we ensure that what we make is the best we can make. This way has stood the test of time. It's handmade for a reason, because handmade is the best way to express the SPIRIT.

Our aim of achieving the high end product, leads us to go directly to COLOROBBIA which is no doubt the biggest company worldwide in this field, made up for companies that are specialized in the productions and distribution of raw materials and semi-finished products for tiles, ceramics, and glass industry.

The group, with headquarters in Italy, Sovigliana Vinci (Florence), operates in 18 countries and up to now has 28 companies and 2000 employees (40% in Italy and 60% abroad)

The Clay,

At Eastern Spirit we use traditional skills and techniques, the highest quality raw materials and our dedicated team of craft men to create our classic and timeless tiles.

At the start of the process, we produce the very special clay from mixing different kinds of special natural sands formed on mountain over thousands of years after facing very hard climatic conditions, mostly located in Italy, using original 19^th century machinery. The clay is then giving its shape by using either the casting or pressing methods

Biscuit stage,

Next, the dried clay is carefully sponged and fettled to smooth aluminum mold.

The first firing is called the biscuit firing.

At Eastern Spirit, we use gas kilns and fire at temperatures of over 1000 degrees. After firing, the pieces are taken to our specialized biscuit selectors who inspect and brush the tiles and prepare them for 100% hand drawing using special oxides, in the same method used since the creation of this craft four thousand years ago.

We are the forefront of very few factories around the world that still use this method and technique, which forms and entirely unique and beautiful finish, attainable only to Eastern Spirit.

Glaze,

In order to harden and ensure the quality of our tiles, the piece is then fired. Finally, the design is dipped in glaze and fired for a third time, setting the pattern tile underneath the glaze.

Since one of the renowned architects Basel Al Attar, with worldwide experience in the field of architecture, over more than twenty years, the one who created Eastern Spirit and the one who is running this art from the very first day till now, that makes him aware of adopting sustainable development criteria, and focused on the environment protection and observance of safety standards, to obtain at the end environmentally friendly product. 

Due to our strong desire to satisfy our customers who are always looking for unique and precious art pieces, we have added new production line to Eastern Spirit’s collections, using real Gold, Platinum, and silver in 12 carat, imported from COLOROBBIA which is one of the biggest companies in the world with a history up to 130 years of dealing with this kind of precious materials.
